Betty Jane Chine

Funeral services at 10:00 am on Friday at the Lane Family Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for Betty Jane Chine 81, who died Saturday evening at Humility House in Austintown. Betty was born June 14th 1931 in Youngstown, Ohio. daughter of John and Georgia Schott . Betty was a graduate of Girard High School, and after raising her six children worked for Cooks Department Store for a number of years and then The Phar-Mor Corporation. Betty was a homemaker as well, taking wonderful care of her family and friends. As her children were growing up she found a tremendous amount of joy in baking and cooking for them and their friends. She will be especially remembered by all for her Friday pizzas and of course her Sunday sauce and meatballs which was a tradition throughout her children's lives and then grandchildren's lives. Her home was always a welcome place for all to gather and share food, stories, laughter, and love. Betty was married to her husband of 56 years Louis Dominic Chine who passed in 2007. She was also preceded in death by her parents. Betty will be sadly missed by her children: Louis (Shelley) Chine of Austintown, Jeff (Cindy) Chine of Austintown, Mark (Jay) Chine of North Jackson, Joseph Chine of Austintown, Jude (Fred) Muse of Jackson, MS, and Christina Chine of Austintown; eleven grandchildren: Adam (Danielle), Aaron, Jennifer (Joey), Brandon, (Christy), Eric, Cody, Alyssa, Jake, Audrey, Josh, and Kacie; five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The Chine family would like to express a special thanks to all the people at Humility House who were involved in the wonderful care and loving compassion they showed and gave our mother.
