Betty L. Stowers

September 11, 1931 — July 11, 2014

Betty L. Stowers, age 82 of Hubbard, another angel was taken by God on Friday, July 11, 2014 at 6:30 PM at Concorde Care Center of Hartford, she passed away after having suffered several extended illnesses. The family spent most of the day with her, talking to her and loving on her. They were joined by hospice and clergy, and they all prayed over her, that her transition would be an easy one. Music was played for her to hear, such as "Amazing Grace" and "The Old Rugged Cross". She had suffered far too long, and God knows she'd had more pain than anyone should ever have to take. Especially, such a wonderful woman, who had always been a great wife, mother, and friend. And even though their hearts are broken, the family understands that it was her time to go. They loved her more than life itself, but they did not want her to suffer anymore. They know she is with the Lord now, and at peace. She loved and was loved by many. Her wishes were simply to be cremated. So there will not be any visiting hours or services for her. She was born on September 11, 1931 in Culloden, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Clarence and Hester Meddings Ginn. Betty was a homemaker and was an outstanding and great southern cook. Mrs. Stowers loved to visit family and friends on the beaches of North Carolina and Florida as often as possible. Survivors include her husband, Lee Stowers, whom she married on September 10, 1947; her son, Timothy and his wife, Kimberly Stowers of Charleston, SC, her daughter, Lora Maloney of Masury, Ohio, and her daughter-in-law, Rev. Deborah Stowers of St. Ansgar, Iowa; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; siblings, Robert "Tony", Marshall, Michael "Mike", and John Ginn all of West Virginia. Other than her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her son, Rev. Ted Stowers, one brother, and two sisters. Memorial contributions may be sent to the National Kidney Foundation, Finance Department, 30 East 33rd Street, New York City, New York 10016.
