Betty O'Hara

Betty (Belgion) O'Hara, age 89, of Howland Township, died at 10:10 am Monday, November 2, 2009, at Forum Health Trumbull Memorial Hospital. She was born September 13, 1920 in Newport, Wales the daughter of the late Walter Roy and Olive Matilda (Hurn) Belgion. Betty has been a Trumbull county resident since 2001, coming from Nantucket, Mass. where she lived for 32 years. She retired in 1985 after many years of service at Pacific National Bank in Nantucket, where she was Vice President of the trust department. Betty was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Warren, where she was past treasurer of the Kirk Club and served on the Mission Committee. She was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking, flower gardening, Scrabble and crossword puzzles. Locally, Betty was a member of the British Women's Lunch Group and the Cortland Literary Club. She is survived by her husband Gerald L. O'Hara, whom she married August 12, 1946; one daughter, Ann Louise (Fred) Hoover of Cortland; one son, David Alan (Myrna) O'Hara of Cape Cod, Mass.; two grandchildren, Jonathon David O'Hara and Megan Ann O'Hara and one sister, June DeMont of England. A Memorial Gathering of Remembrance will be held at the First Presbyterian Church at 10 am Saturday, November 7, 2009, with Rev. Rusty Cowden officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel in Warren. Cremation was held.
