Billie J. White, Sr.

There will be a funeral service 11 AM Saturday at the Lane Funeral Home Canfield Chapel for Billie J. White Sr., of Canfield who passed away Wednesday at Hospice House. Billie was born October 23, 1927 in Morgansville, WV a son of the late Lester Earlin and Nola (Cain) White. Billie worked for Youngstown Sheet and Tube, Youngstown Metal Products, Mahoning Culvert Company for 11 years. He was then a self employed plumber for 21 years. Billie then worked for the Columbiana School System for 10 years as a maintenance supervisor and stationary steam engineer, retiring in 1989. After retirement he worked security at Tippecanoe Country Club for 10 years. He attended the Truth Baptist Church in Deerfield, was a member of the Mahoning County Coon Hunters Protective Association, and liked to hunt and fish. Billie's wife the former Phyllis E. Seese, whom he married October 28, 1949, passed away April 26, 2008. He is survived by one son: Jeffrey (Vickie) White of Ellsworth; a daughter in law Deanna White of Columbiana; one sister: Patricia Grimm of Phoenix, AZ; five grandchildren: Melissa Rowbottom, Dawn Engler, Pamela White, Jennifer White, Ashley White; two step grandchildren: Bambi Woodworth and Ashley McGee; nine great grandchildren and six step great grandchildren. Besides his parents and wife, Billie is preceded in death by a son Billie Jackson White Jr.; three brothers: Ulysses Grant White, Lester Earlin White, and an infant brother; and one sister Mary Pauline McNeish. Friends may call from 5 PM until 8 PM Friday at the funeral home.
