Bonnie S. Parke, 87, formerly of North Bloomfield passed away after an extended illness Monday evening, Dec. 22, 2008 at the Windsor House of Champion where she was a resident. Born Jan. 1, 1921 she was the daughter of the late Chester G. and Beulah (Simons) Smith. A graduate of Bloomfield High School, Bonnie was a lifetime area resident. She retired from Bank One where she was head of bookkeeping for 40 years. Bonnie was a lifetime member of the North Bloomfield United Methodist Church, was an avid reader and was the self proclaimed Queen of QVC. Most of all, she enjoyed her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bonnie married Earl G. Parke Jan. 9, 1946. Together they shared 45 years of marriage and a son. Earl preceded her in death in 1991. She will be dearly missed by her son Lynn (Diane) Parke of N. Bloomfield, two grandchildren, Erika Marie Parke and Lynn S. Parke II both of N. Bloomfield, two great grandchildren, Cameron N. and Kassidy A. Parke, and four brothers, Chester J. Smith of Leavittsburg, Harvey G. Smith of Old Town, FL, Merle Smith and Ray L. Smith both of N. Bloomfield. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother E. Llewelyn Smith and five sisters, Marie Smith, Margaret S. Roberts, Harriet S. Stewart, Charlotte Weigand and Carol S. Richardson. The Rev. Jody Baker will conduct a funeral service Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008 at 11AM at the North Bloomfield United Methodist Church where family and friends may call for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be held in the Brownwood cemetery. In lieu of flowers material contributions may be made in Bonnie's memory to the N. Bloomfield United Methodist Church at 8840 Park Ave N. Bloomfield, OH 44450 or to Hospice of the Valley.
