Brian also enjoyed photography and received a gold medal in a scholastic art competition, for which he received a letter of congratulations from the Ohio House of Representatives, and the Ohio Senate as well. Brian also started creating music for the local band he was in. After graduation, Brian moved to Columbus. While employed with Sam Ash and Coyle Music, Brian started playing drums, and word quickly got out about his excellent drumming and he was pursued by many bands. He performed with Shakerman from 1996 to 2000, and toured about 20 states through the Midwest, East Coast and South, playing up to 200 shows a year. He also co-wrote and co-produced several other non-released tracks with this band and with the members of this group. At this time, he also was a studio musician for a couple of studios in town. After exhausting all his avenues in Columbus, Brian then moved to New York. Brian worked in New York in the television industry for nearly eight years at INDEMAND. He did full sound design and music for the credits of "A retrospective look back the events of 9/11," at "The Howard Stern Show," among many other creative projects. Brian also worked on many music and video projects outside of his day work. Some were professional endeavors and some were labors of love. He was in a band called The Answer, who traveled extensively and sold over 20, 000 albums, had radio play and played with other well-known bands. On his local turf, in New York, they were the house band at the already legendary Snitch and played at CBGB's.
