C. William Patterson

C. William “Bill” Patterson Sr., 72, of Champion died Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at 5:20PM at his home after a seven month battle with cancer. Born October 25, 1934 in Waynesburg (Kirby), PA he was the son of the late Irwin and Marie (Hoy) Patterson. A 1952 graduate of Waynesburg High School, Bill moved to the Warren area in 1956. He is a veteran of the United States Air Force Reserves serving 8 years. Bill was a journeyman lineman for 40 years with the IBEW Outside Electrical Local #71 which was formerly Local #411. He attended the Grace Baptist Church in Champion, was a Mason with Western Reserve Lodge #507 in Farmington, and past governor of the Trumbull Moose Lodge #186. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife EmmaLee (Ross) Patterson whom he married March 16, 1956. Together they shared 51 years of marriage and three children. Bill will be dearly missed by his daughter Charlene O’Rourke of Cortland, two sons Chuck (Cindy) Patterson Jr. of Las Vegas, NV and Gary (Cathy) Patterson of Chatsworth, CA, 6 grandchildren; James, Zachary, Alayna, Earl, Lindsay, and Shaun, three great grandchildren, sisters Carolyn (Don) Yoders of Aleppo, PA and Linda McCracken of Waynesburg, PA. Calling hours will be held Monday from 6 to 8PM and for one hour prior to the funeral service at the Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel. A Masonic service will take place at 5:45PM on Monday. Rev. William Sprague will conduct a funeral service Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at 11AM at the funeral home. Burial will be held in the Meadowbrook Memorial Park in Champion.
