CARL H. CONN, 86 Austintown- Funeral services will be held 11AM Friday at the Lane Funeral Home-Austintown Chapel for Carl H. Conn age 86 of Russell Ave. who died Monday evening at his home. Carl was born Oct. 8, 1918 in Youngstown and was the son of Hugh Henry and Emily (Jagger) Conn. He retired from Powell Pressed Steel in Hubbard after 39 years where he had been a tow motor operator. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the Army and enjoyed gardening and working on cars. Carl is survived by his wife, the former M. Louise Johnston whom he married Feb. 5, 1949. He also leaves three sons, Ronald (Susan) Conn of Boardman, Mitchell (Patricia) Conn of New Middletown, Daniel (Ruth) Conn of Elkhart, IN, five sisters, Ella Lawn of Hubbard, Jane Simpson of Austintown, Alberta Murtaugh of Hubbard, Ruth Grist of Florida, Carol Davis of Austintown, 7 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters Beatrice Campbell, Bessie Craig, Sarah Grist and one brother James Conn. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday. Those that were not made known of the visitation may call the residence to offer condolences. The family requests that material contributions take the form of donations to Hospice of the Valley.
