Carl E. Moser

- Memorial services will be held at 4 pm Sunday January 2, 2011 at the Canfield United Methodist Church for Carl Moser who died Tuesday evening of complications of ALS-Lou Gehrig's disease. Carl was born August 28, 1926 in Lisbon, Ohio the son of Ernst and Mary (Richey) Moser. Carl was an active Member of Canfield United Methodist Church where he had served on many church boards. Carl graduated from Augusta High School in 1944 then served in the Navy during WWII. After serving in the Navy Carl graduated from The Ohio State University in 1951. He was an avid Buckeye fan and life long season ticket holder. Carl was also a member of, The Ohio State Booster and Alumni Association. Carl retired from State Farm Insurance Companies where he was an agent and manager for close to 40 years. He was a member of the Mahoning County Life Underwriters. Carl was very active with 4H, serving as the Ohio State Extension Agent of Trumbull County and a Board member of the Ohio State 4H Council. He was a Hall of Fame member of the Ohio High School Athletic Association for swim officiating, Canfield High School Athletic Association Hall of Fame as a contributing member and a Past Board member of the Canfield Swim Club. Carl will be sadly missed by his wife of 61 years, Evelyn (Davis) Moser whom he married July 24, 1949, children; Elva Moser of Bloomfield, New Jersey, Scott (Luanne) Moser of Littleton, Co., Jill (Larry) Herock of Canfield and Carla- CJ (Mike) Flatley of New Springfield. He also leaves his brothers; Harold (Nancy) Moser of Cadiz, Donald (Jo) Moser of Howland and six grandchildren; Kelsey Moser, Breanna Herock, Hayley Herock, Landon Herock, Mikel Flatley, River Flatley and step grandchildren, Michael Schmalzreidt and Kellie Culbertson. Family and friends may call from 2-4 pm Sunday at the church prior to services. The family requests that memorial contributions take the form of donations to, ALS Association of Northeast Ohio or the Canfield United Methodist Church.
