Carl Mcquown

LIBERTY TWP: Carl R. McQuown, age 83 of Liberty Twp, formerly of Mineral Ridge, passed away Sunday, September 14, 2014 at Hospice House, Poland. Carl was born November 7, 1930 in Clymer, Pennsylvania to parents; Ralph and Elsie (Householder) McQuown. Carl served his country proudly during the Korean conflict in the United States Army. Carl married Louise Ann Iezzi on July 1, 1981. Carl worked for the Truscon Division at Republic Steel as a millwright, retiring after 30 years of service. He then worked for Vanex Tube Corporation for 10 years. Carl was a handyman, and enjoyed working on all types of projects. He enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles, hunting, and playing Sudoku. His favorite pastime was that spent with his family and friends. Survivors include his wife; Louise, sons; Bob (Kathy) Parker, Warren, Ohio, Randy (Char) Parker, Auburn, CA., Rick (Gretchen) McQuown, Blacklick, Ohio, daughter; Mary Frances Gleeson, Hermosa Beach, CA., sister; Arlene Kaloci, Niles, Ohio, 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and canine companion; Rockie. Carl is preceded in death by his parents and a grandson; Ross McQuown. A private service will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2014. Interment will take place at Niles Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Carl's memory to Hospice House, 9803 Sharrot Rd, Poland, OH 44514.
