Carl S. Tackett—74 Girard—Services will be 11 AM Monday at First Free Will Baptist Church for Carl S. Tackett, 74 of Girard who passed away early Friday morning in St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Carl was born July 28,1929 in Pikeville, Kentucky a son of Cleave and Dorsie (Mullons) Tackett and came to this area in1952. He worked for R&R Mack Trucking in Austintown for 18 years retiring in 1990 as a parts manager. Carl was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church of Austintown and the Masonic Lodge of Ashland, Kentucky. His wife the former Joye Bartley whom he married December 17, 1948 passed away August 17, 1995. Carl leaves four daughters; Kay (Ed) Wash of Poland, Cheryl (Jim) Cook of Austintown, Ada (Fred) Vitelli of Houston, Texas and Dorsie (Jim) Wendt of Manawa, Wis., three sons Danny (Sue) Tackett of Connesville, PA., James Tackett of Girard, and Lanny Tackett of Youngstown, two sisters Erma Bartley, Michigan and Garnet Hamilton of Fla., a brother Hatler Tackett of Kentucky. He also leaves 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Besides his wife five brothers Elmer, Charles, Lumhillard, James and Aroll Tackett precedes Carl in death. Family and friends may call from 2 to 5 PM Sunday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel.
