Carol E Zipay, age 67 of Hartford Township, died Tuesday, May 14, 2013, in the emergency room at Trumbull Memorial Hospital, following a short illness. She was born July 17, 1945 in Grove City, Pa. the daughter of the late George Edward and Emma Louella Harvey Eastlick. Carol was raised in Greenville, Pa. and was a 1963 graduate of Reynolds High School. She then attended Youngstown State Univ. and Kent State Trumbull Campus, where she studied liberal arts. Carol retired in 2001 as a journeyman painter at Delphi Packard Electric, where she worked for 28 years. She attended Grace Chapel in Hermitage and was a member of the Trumbull Art Guild (TAG). Carol volunteered with the American Red Cross, working with the disaster relief, blood drives and health fairs. Carol loved animals, especially her beloved dogs and her favorite, Bo. She enjoyed camping, traveling, painting with acrylics and mixed media arts and interior design. If there was an adventure in waiting, Carol would pursue it. She enjoyed cycling and had ridden on GOBA (Great Ohio Bicycle Adventure) and other cycling trips and participated in numerous half marathons and 5K's with her husband, Bill. Her design was selected for a White House Christmas tree ornament, when President Clinton was in office. Carol is survived by her husband, William J. Zipay, whom she married February 24, 1978; her daughter, Rhonda L. (life partner, Theresa Fox) Zipay of Massillon and two brothers, James (Mary) Eastlick and David Eastlick both of Greenville, Pa. One brother, Ed Eastlick preceded her in death. A celebration of Carol's vibrant life will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at her home in Hartford. Details will be announced to family and friends.
