Carol J. Allard

Carol J. Prather Allard, age 75, of Cortland, Ohio, died Friday, April 18, 2008, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren, Ohio. She was born on September 11, 1932 in Warren, the daughter of the late Charles R. Prather and the late Helen I. (McDonal) Prather. Carol was a member of St. Roberts Catholic Church in Cortland. She belonged to the Pink Ladies at TMH for over 30 years, the Four Seasons Garden Club in Cortland and the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for over fifty years. She was a past member of the Junior Crafts and past member of OCCL. Carol enjoyed wintering in Florida with her husband and watching the Cleveland Indians baseball games and OSU Buckeyes football team. However, Carol may best be remembered as a woman who enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Robert R. Allard, whom she married on August 20, 1955; one son, Kevin R. (Janice) Allard of Columbus; one daughter, Diane J. Soulcheck of Youngstown; two brothers, Donald (Pat) Prather of Cuyahoga Falls, David (Carole Ann) Prather of Warren and one sister, Charlene (Albert) Swartz of Warren. Also surviving is her grandson, Adam R. Soulcheck of Youngstown. Arrangements are being handled by Shafer-Winans Funeral Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, April 21, 2008. A Funeral Mass will be at St. Roberts Catholic Church at 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 22, 2008. Entombment will be at All Souls Cemetery in Cortland.
