Carol Jean Bowman

Carol Jean Bowman, 91, passed away in the loving presence of her family on December 19, 2022, at Community Skilled Nursing. Carol was born on March 30, 1931, in Warren, Ohio the daughter of George and Nell Durst Persing. On May 8, 1948, she was united in marriage to Henry J. Bowman with whom she shared seventy-four years of marriage. A woman of faith Carol was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. A devoted wife and mother she was known as Mam to her grandchildren. She took pride in her home, spending time sewing and baking and enjoyed her vacations in Florida and Canada. She will be missed by her children John (Jennifer Gerrick) Bowman, Cheryl (Paul) Franklin, Donald (Julana) Bowman and Danell (Thomas “Bo”) Koenig, grandchildren John Bowman, Jr., Shana Gallagher, Darrin Williams, Kimberly Flynn, Dustin Bowman, Degina Bowman, Julia Bowman, Cody Koenig, and Troy Koenig, 6 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Henry, brothers David Persing, Ralph Persing, sister Ruth Marie Yaksich and daughter in law Shirley Bowman. Visitation will be held Saturday January 21, 2023, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 56 N. Chestnut Street, Niles, Ohio from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM followed by a memorial service at 12:00 PM.
