Carolyn Moorhead

Carolyn L. Moorhead Youngstown formerly of Sharon, PA-- Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday Dec. 21, 2013 at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown for Carolyn L. Moorhead, 63, who died early Monday morning at her residence. Mrs. Moorhead was born January 7, 1950 in Sharon, PA. She was the daughter of the late William and Rosemary (Flaherty) Palmer. Carolyn graduated from Sharon High in 1967. She then attended St. Elizabeth's School of nursing and became a registered nurse. Later, she attended Youngstown State University where she graduated with a BSN. Carolyn also held credentials as a C.C.R.N. and primarily worked at St. Elizabeth Hospital in MICU for 43 years. Carolyn belonged to Bethel Assembly of God, was a member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses and The Northeastern Ohio American Association of Critical Care Nurses "NEOAACN" where she held multiple positions. She loved God and had a passion for being a nurse, helping others, and traveling to Africa four different times to do Missionary work. She loved her family and friends, eating chocolate, Christmas, riding on the Harley and the Pittsburgh Steelers. She leaves behind her husband W. Brent "Moose" Moorhead whom she married on May 27, 1972. Her two children Brent Moorhead and Melissa (Darrell) Shular, both of Colorado Springs, CO., her two grandchildren Grace, 6 and Bode, 3 and her sister Ritie (Steve) Harper. She was preceded in death by her brother Raymond Palmer. Friends may call Friday from 4-8pm and Sat from 10 until the time of services at 11 am, at Lane Family Funeral Homes Austintown.
