Services will be held 12 PM Thursday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for Castora Diaz, 88, of Boardman who passed away Tuesday at her home. Castora was born March 28, 1922 in Puerto Rico the daughter Rejino and Justina (Perez) Perdomo. She was a seamstress with Moyer Pants and Company retiring in the 1970's She enjoyed sewing, cooking, flower gardening, but most of all she enjoyed the time she spent with her family and friends. Castora would help the sick people throughout her community in Puerto Rico with cooking, cleaning and anything else she could do for them during the recovery time. Castora leaves her husband of 66 years, Bienvenido Diaz, whom she married December 17, 1944. She also leaves one daughter; Ramona (Lou) Sigurani of Boardman, three sons; Joe (Ruby) Diaz of Berlin Center, Mike (Dollie) Diaz of Austintown, and Carlos (Diane) Diaz of Hubbard, one brother Santos Perdomo, of Puerto Rico, 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. Besides her parents, Castora is preceded in death by one daughter; Nellie Martin, one sister Anna Perdomo, two grandsons; Mikey Sigurani and Rick Ortiz, and two great grandchildren; Savannah Brunner and Dominic Diaz. Friends and family may call from 10 to 12 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
