Services will be at 2 PM Saturday at the Lane Funeral Home Canfield Chapel for Cecil E. Berry, 93, of Berlin Center who passed away Tuesday morning in Copeland Oaks Care Center. Cecil was born October 2, 1914 in Atwater, Ohio the son of William and Ruth (Pettit) Berry. He formerly owned and operated Berlin Electric for 30 years retiring in 1985. He was a member of Palmyra Masonic Lodge & AM, Ellsworth VFW Post #9571, and Elks Lodge in Salem. Cecil was of the Methodist faith, a graduate of Berlin High School, and was an avid fisherman, loved to bowl and play cards. He also coached Little League and Hot Stove Baseball for many years. Cecil was a WWII Navy Veteran serving on the USS Bronstein and received the Presidential Citation and 4 Bronze Stars. His first wife the former Mary Cline whom he married June 14, 1947, passed away in 1973. Cecil’s second wife, Wilma Bauman passed away in 2006. Cecil is survived by a son; John (Sue) Berry, and a daughter ; Kay(Bob) Sternagle both of Berlin Center, stepchildren; David (Ruth) Herbert, John (Lora) Herbert, and Mary Lou (Ditmar) Weslin, one brother Orville (Jackie) Berry of Texas. Cecil also leaves 2 grandchildren and 5 step- grandchildren. Family and friends may call from 12:30 to 2 PM at the funeral home where there will be a Masonic service following the 2 PM funeral service. In lieu of flowers the family requests material tributes take the form of donations to the Berlin Center United Methodist Church in Cecil’s name
