Austintown- Funeral services will be held at 11am Tuesday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for Charles Jarrell who died Friday morning at Austinwoods. Charles was born April 2, 1923 in Chesapeake, W. VA. the son of Luther and Nora (Cooper) Jarrell and moved to Austintown in 1964. Charles retired from Youngstown Steel Door where he had worked for 18 years, he also had owned a grocery store in Belle, W. VA. He had also managed his father's grocery store in Chesapeake and was a milk salesman for Blossom Dairy for 13 years in Charleston, W. VA. He was a WWII Army Air Corp. veteran. Charles was a volunteer at area nursing homes and various VFW's and American Legions where he would go in and sing and play music. He also enjoyed camping and fishing. He is survived by his wife of 68 years the former Helen R. Moore whom he married October 2, 1942, two daughters; Sue (Gary) Walker and Sandra (Jim) Arden both of Austintown. He is also survived by four grandchildren: Colleen (Gary) Grope of Boardman, Steve (Sharon) Walker of Calgary, Canada, Charlene (Gene) Johnson and Jamie (Jenn) Arden, nine great grandchildren: Chris, Matt, Brandon, Jarrett Grope, Jennifer Stinson, Courtney, Jacob, Erin Johnson, Elijah Arden and one great great grandson Jonathan Grope. He was preceded in death by his sisters; Sylvia Floyd, Janet Jarrell and brothers; Luther, Joseph and Ralph Jarrell. Family and friends may call from 6-8 pm Monday at the funeral home.
