Charles Brock

Charles, D. Brock, Sr., age 75 of Warren, Ohio passed away at his residence September 29, 2013. Charles was born July 22, 1938 in Mineral Ridge to parents Ray Lester and Clara (Mae) Brock. After graduation from Mineral Ridge High School Charles entered the United States Navy where he proudly served for 13 years before being honorably discharged. Charles married Jean Cramer on April 17, 1973. He was a long time steel worker retiring in 2006. Anyone who is familiar with country western music knew Charles. He was an accomplished guitarist playing with all the major names, such as Conway Twitty, Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Freddie Fender and many more. He was also the opening act for George Jones at Ponderosa Park. When not playing guitar, Charles could be found watching Nascar, or attending swap meets. He was also very proud to be a master mason. Charles loved his family more than anything else. He leaves to cherish his memory 13 children. Sons, Charles (Deborah) Brock Jr. Ray Brock, William (Cheryl) Brock, Jesse (Judee) Patterson, Matthew (Brenda) Patterson. Daughters Michele Pankuch, Clara Mundell, Kimberly (Jack) McGill, Christina Gonzales, Julie (Chris) Galchick, Melissa (Richard) Hayes. Brothers William Brock and Chuck Champlin, along with 22 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Charles was preceded in death by wife Jean, parents Ray and Clara Brock, and his brother Tom. A memorial will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery honoring Charles' service to his country.
