Charles Douglas Rose, 75 Columbiana-- There will be a Celebration of Life Memorial Service Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at St. Christine Church, 3165 S. Schenley Ave., Youngstown for Charles Douglas Rose, 75 of Columbiana who passed away early Thursday morning at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Boardman Campus. Charles was born October 20, 1937 in Youngstown, a son of the late Charles F. and Lavora Arrants Rose and was a lifelong area resident. He graduated from East High School, attended Youngstown State University and completed the electrician apprenticeship at Youngstown Sheet and Tube. Charles had been employed as an electrician for the General Motors Corporation for over 20 years, retiring in 2005. He had previously worked as an electrician for the former Youngstown Sheet and Tube for 23 years. Charles an avid golfer and had belonged to several golf leagues. He was a family man and enjoyed the time spent with his family, especially attending his grandchildren's softball and baseball games rarely missing any of their activities. Besides his wife, the former Leona Mistovich whom he married January 30, 1959, he leaves his two sons, Doug Rose of Youngstown, Dave (Kimberly) Rose of Canfield ; one daughter, Cheryl Rose of Columbiana; 7 grandchildren, Cory, Amberly, Lindsey, Emily, Bailey, Kenny, Kristen and one great-grandchild on the way. Charles also leaves two brothers, Ted (Mary Lou) Rose of Canfield, James (Dalma) Rose of Prescott, Arizona and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Gary Rose, Calvin Rose, William Rose, Richard Rose and a sister, Virginia Valerius. The family requests material tributes take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society, 525 N. Broad St, Canfield 44406 or to St. Christine Church. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are being handled by Lane Family Funeral Homes, Canfield Chapel. (330) 533-3326
