Charles Edwin Sprouse

Canton Charles "Chuck" Edwin Sprouse Jr., 77, passed away Sunday evening, January 4, 2015 at Mercy Medical Center in Canton, OH. Charles was born on June 3rd 1937, in Kingston, West Virginia, the son of Charles Edwin Sprouse Sr. and Ruth (Ellis) Sprouse. Charles was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. from September 11, 1959 to September 12, 1961, earning the Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Canton, OH, He will be deeply missed by his wife, JoAnne (Martin) Sprouse, whom were married for 57 years, one daughter Lisa (Chuck) Matthews of Brookfield, OH; three sons, Jeff (Debbie) Sprouse of Canton, OH, Steve (Lisa) Sprouse of Prinston, IL, and Mike (Tammy) Sprouse of Chattanooga, TN; eight grandchildren, Missy Riggans, Jeremy Matthews, Joshua (Victoria) Matthews, Colton Matthews, Seth Sprouse, Kale Sprouse, Mike Sprouse, and Morgan Sprouse, four great-grandchildren, and one sister Patsy (Carl) Peters of FL. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Janice Lester. Funeral Services will be held for Charles on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at 2:00PM at the First Church of the Nazarene, located at 522 30th St. N.W. Canton, OH 44709, Pastor Chad Current will be officiating. Friends and family may visit two hours prior to the service at the church. Interment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, OH. Memorial contributions can be made to the church Benevolent Ministries' in Chuck's memory.
