Charles G Flick

Charles G. "Chuck" Flick of Warren, OH passed away on Sunday morning March 31, 2013 at Lake Vista in Cortland, OH. He was 87 years old. He was born on August 5, 1925 in Warren, OH the only child of the late Charles R. and Aimee (Gordon) Flick. Chuck was a 1943 graduate of Harding High School and had also attended Y.S.U. and the American School of Banking. Chuck joined the US Army as a Sergeant with Company B in the 28th Infantry Regiment of the 8th Division. With the 8th division he served during the Battle of the Bulge in Germany and following hostilities he was assigned to Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Force Mission to Norway and later S.H.A.E.F. Headquarters in Frankfurt, Germany. Mr. Flick worked for AETNA Freight Lines as a Traffic Manager and in 1952 joined the Union Savings and Trust Company Bank as vice-president. During that time he managed three departments simultaneously including the Installment Loan Department, Visa Credit Card Department, and the Bank Collection Department. In 1984 he joined Society Bank Key Corp., serving as a vice-president of Business Development and handled public funds in a three county area before his retirement in 1990. He was an avid golfer and a long time member of the Bronzewood Golf Club in Kinsman, OH. He also enjoyed traveling, reading, and photography. Chuck was preceded in death by his wife of more than fifty-three years Doris E. (Snyder) Flick on January 30, 2006. He will be sadly missed by his dearest friends Vera Phillips, Steve Chos, Ray Phaneuf, and Rick Phillips. A funeral service will be held on Thursday beginning at 1:00PM at the Roberts-Clark Chapel of Lane Family Funeral Homes at 180 Garfield Drive Warren, Ohio 44483. Friends may call one hour prior to the start of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna, OH.
