There will be a memorial service held at 2 PM Saturday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for Charles L. Dunlap, 65, who passed away at St. Elizabeth Medical Center Sunday May 7, 2006 surrounded by his family who loved him deeply. A son of Howard and Lucy Louisa Britton Dunlap, he was born November 1, 1940 in Youngstown. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He did carpentry work his whole life and enjoyed helping everyone with their remodeling projects. But before his illness of emphysema he worked for Hydrochem Industrial Services in Austintown. He will be deeply and sadly missed but affectionately remembered by his children, Charles L. Dunlap Jr. of Youngstown, Rosemarie and husband Raymond Hall of Austintown, and Penny Goss of Warren, two granddaughters; Katelin and Emma Hall, whom he loved, adored, and treasured. His granddaughters always brightened his day and put a smile on his face. He also leaves his brothers who he shared a deep bond and friendship. He could always rely on his brothers William and wife Sally Dunlap of Austintown, James Dunlap of Austintown and Donald and wife Pam Dunlap of Warren, and half brother Howard Jr. and Wife Susie Dunlap of Youngstown. He also leaves an adoration for all of his nieces and nephews. Charles enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially talking about old times and stirring things up. He always made people laugh with his infectious sense of humor. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters Jean and Shirley. The family wishes to thank Dr. Lesnoski and Dr. DeMarco for all their thoughtful and untiring care for Charles. Also a special thank you for all the nurses who took exceptional care of Charles at St. Elizabeth’s. They were kind, Helpful and very caring and we will forever be thankful. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
