Charles Lissman

YOUNGSTOWN-Charles “Charlie” Lissman, 69, of Gateway to Better Living #9 Group Home, passed away at 10:15AM Saturday, July 25, 2009 in Briarfield at the Ridge. Charles was born May 11, 1940 in Youngstown the son of the late Howard and Doris (McGowan) Lissman. Charles, affectionately known as “Charlie” by his family, participated in the Special Summer Olympics and the Gateway to Better Living workshops in Youngstown and Boardman and his was believed to be the oldest down syndrome person in the area. Charlie will always be remembered for his affectionate and heartwarming smile and will be sadly missed by all who knew him, especially his immediate family, the people at #9 group home and the Gateway administration. Charlie leaves his cousin and guardian Lee (Kathy) Raybuck of Poland. He leaves many cousins, especially Amy (Raybuck) Pavy who Charlie had a special bond with. Family will receive friends on Wednesday morning July 29, 2009 from 10AM until 11AM in the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at 11AM in the funeral home.
