Charles S. Wilson Sr.

Diamond- Charles S. Wilson, loving husband and father, of Milton Township passed away June 30, 2011 in North Side Hospital. Charles was born September 8, 1936 in Ellsworth the son of Cloe L. and Edna Kistler Wilson. He was a graduate of Jackson Milton High School and lifetime resident of Mahoning County. Charles retired in 2000 from General Motors where he had worked 33 years. He was previously employed by Reactive Metals, Niles, Ohio and Copperweld, Warren, Ohio. For a short period of time he was a dairy farmer. As a teenager he worked as a groundskeeper at the Canfield Fair grounds. His source of contentment and happiness was found in working and relaxing on his 28 acre "peace of heaven," observing wildlife, working in the woods, on his home or yard and sharing these experiences and serenity with his wife and canine companions. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Donna Jean Barringer, sister in laws, Mary Lou Wilson and Ellen Makin. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Cathy A. Wilson who he joined in friendship and love as his partner in life on September 28, 1996. Charles is also survived by his son Charles S. (Sandy) Wilson Jr. of Damascus, daughter Charlene A. (Dr. Shane) Brower of Boyer, PA., brother Donald E. (Nancy) Wilson of Lewis Center, OH.sisters; Phyllis E. (Walter) of Ravenna, Dorothy A. (Dave) Harris of North Jackson, grandchildren, Shelton, Chalina & Cheylan Brower, brother and sister in laws, Roy (Mary) Makin, Harold (Sonny) Makin, mother in law Helen C. Makin and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Family and friends may call from 1-2 pm Saturday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel where funeral services will begin at 2pm.
