Austintown- Funeral services will be held at 11 am Monday at the Smith Corners United Methodist Church for Jay Corll who died Friday morning at his residence. Jay was born June 25, 1932 in Canfield the son of Chauncey Jay Corll Sr. and Harriet A. Freed Corll and was a lifelong area resident. Jay retired in 1991 from East Ohio Gas where he had been employed in the pressure dept for 34 years. He also was a life time farmer which he loved. He was an active member of Smith Corners United Methodist Church where he served on many boards and was a trustee. Jay was also a member of the Mahoning County Farm Bureau and served his country in the Army during the Korean War. He is survived by his wife of almost 60 years the former Alice Jean Hopes Corll whom he married July 5, 1952, children; David and Cathy Corll of Portage, IN., Ronald and Caryn Corll of Cartersville, GA., Paul and Diana Corll of Shippensburg, PA., Michael Corll of Canal Fulton, Gerry Williams of Austintown and Nora Ranalli also of Austintown. Jay also leaves his sister Mary Ellen Fink of Lehigh, FL., 15 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Chauncey Jay Corll III. And brother Lewis Corll. Family and friends may call from 2-5 pm Sunday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel and from 10 to 11 am Monday at the church prior to services. The family requests that memorial contributions take the form of donations to, MVI Hospice 4891 Belmont Ave. Youngstown, Ohio 44505 or the church Memorial Fund in Jay's name.
