Cheryl Anne (Stone) Porgal, 41 of Tallahassee passed away at 10:32 am on Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. She was born on June 19, 1969 in Fairfield, California, the daughter of Richard C. and Gloria A. (Begeny) Stone Sr. Cheryl was of Roman Catholic faith. She received her associate's degree and was a radiology technician. She was currently applying to colleges to obtain her bachelor's degree. Prior to living in Tallahassee, Cheryl lived in Virginia Beach where she proudly served as an EMT for many years. She loved going to the beach, boating, and any summer activities Cheryl enjoyed. Cheryl had a soft spot in her heart for rescue animals, having rescued all of her dogs whom she loved dearly. Before her passing, Cheryl was currently working on writing a book and more recently started taking dance classes. She is survived by her husband of 20 years John Porgal of Tallahassee, her parents; Richard C. and Gloria Stone Sr. of Howland Twp; her siblings, Laurie L. Springer of Howland Twp., Jeffrey Allan Stone of Streetsboro, Chandra Louise (Rodger) Compton of Martinsville, VA and Richard C. Stone Jr. of Howland Twp.; her maternal grandmother, Dorothy L. Begeny; aunts Lorene Favrow and Patricia (Jeff) Stoddard; nine nieces and nephews, and her dogs. She was preceded in death by her grandfathers; George Begeny Jr. and Curtis B. Stone; and her loving dog Mindy. According to Cheryl's wishes there will be no calling hours and no services. Cremation will take pace. Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel handled the arrangements.
