Cheryl Kay Guerrero, 62 of Howland Township, died unexpectedly Sunday evening, January 18, 2015, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. She was born February 17, 1952 in Warren, the daughter of the late William Quay Christie Jr. and Genevieve Brodie Christie. She was raised in Champion and had been a lifetime Warren area resident. Cheryl was a high school graduate and attended Champion schools. She was a homemaker all of her married life and also worked for 15 years in home health care. Cheryl was a member of Howland United Methodist Church. She had served as a girl scout leader when her daughters were in scouting. She enjoyed collecting Precious Moments figurines and Beanie Babies, was a movie buff and loved reading the Bible and the Daily Bread devotionals. She is survived by her husband of nearly 47 years, John Guerrero, whom she married April 19, 1968; two daughters, Dawn Marie (Joe) Holland of Warren and Terra Christie Guerrero at home; two grandchildren, Chase Guerrero and Hannah Anderson one brother, Robert Christie of Champion and a sister-in-law, Ruth Christie of Las Vegas. One daughter, Jennifer Lynn Anderson and one sister, Patricia McGaughy both preceded her in death. The family will receive friends from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, January 21, 2015, at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel in Warren and also one hour prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service on Thursday at the funeral home. Pastor Ron Spore will officiate. Burial will be at Howland Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Welfare League, 812 Youngstown Kingsville Rd.
