Christa W. Figinsky

Christa Waltraud Figinsky, 69, passed away Friday afternoon at the Hospice House in Poland. She was born August 5, 1939 in Grobschottgau, Germany, the daughter of Franz and Stephanie Staron. She moved to the U.S. in 1962 where she married Arthur W. Figinsky. They were married for 46 years and together owned and operated two successful taverns. A devoted wife and mother, Christa enjoyed gardening, bird watching, and riding her bicycle. She is survived by her husband Arthur; her mother Stephanie Staron; four sons; Peter (Beate) Staron, Michael Figinsky, Arthur Figinsky, III, and Robert (Jenessa) Figinsky; grandchildren Julia and David Staron; Mark, Felicia, Robert, Jr., and William Figinsky; a brother Franz (Angelika) Staron; a sister Jutta (Richard) Fuchs; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father. Christa did not wish to have any funeral services; she wanted everyone to remember her in their own way and not the way she was near the end. The family requests that memorial contributions take the form of donations to Hospice of the Valley.
