Christena Mae Mathes

Youngstown- Christena Mae (Breedlove) Mathes, 95, passed away on December 6, 2016. She was born on November 25, 1921 in Morrisville, West Virginia, daughter to the late Kyle and Cynthia (Ryan) Breedlove. Christena went to business school and earned her associate degree. Most recently she worked for Trumbull Metropolitan Housing Authority and retired after 10 years. Christena will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother, devoted to her family. Left to carry on her memory are her sons, Robert (Carol) Mathes III, Christopher (Arlene) Mathes, and William (Chris) Mathes, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parent, 2 brothers, and 1 sister, Christena is preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Robert M. Mathes Jr., whom passed on October 5, 2005. She is also predeceased by her daughter, Cynthia Hulewat and her grandson, Robert Mathes IV. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley in Christena's honor.
