Clara Mae Sivert

CoschoctonServices will be held 1PM Monday at Lane Family Funeral Homes Austintown Chapel for Clara Sivert who passed away peacefully Wednesday. The daughter of Thomas and Grace (Urich) McDougal, Clara was born April 3, 1934 in North Jackson. In her youth Clara attended North Jackson High Schoolwhere she played French horn in the school's band. She was also a proud member of the local 4-H club. On August 7, 1951 Clara married William "Bill" Sivert, with whom she spent 60 wonderful years of marriage. Clara was a homemaker and also worked as a manager for J Byrons Department Store until her retirement in 1980. She had many passions in life including sewing, crafts, cooking, crosswords, and collecting owls. She also had a love for yard sales and thrift shops. She served as a mother advisor for the Rainbow Girls and was a member of several groups including the Lions Club, the Eastern Star where she was a Worthy Matron, and the United Methodist Women and Conference. She was also a member of the Drew Hill United Methodist Church in Ocala Florida. She is survived by her husband Bill and five children Greg (Barb) Sivert, Karen (Sam) Lanzarotta, Mark (Pat) Sivert, Billy Sivert and Cathy Sivert. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two brothers Tom (Ruth) McDougal and Wayne (Lucille) McDougal. She is preceded in death by a son Gary, a daughter-in-law Beverly Sivert and one great grandson. Friends may call from 11AM to 1PM Monday at Lane Family Funeral Homes Austintown Chapel. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made in Clara's name to the Alzheimer's Association 3695 Boardman-Canfield Rd. Canfield, OH 44406. She will be sadly missed by all that knew her.
