Services will be held 1 PM Friday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for Clarence W. Yeany Sr., of Austintown who passed away Tuesday evening in Humility House Care Center. Clarence was born December 28, 1918 in Shannondale, PA, the son of Plynn R. Sr. and Grace (Anderson) Yeany, and came to the area in 1952. He was a teacher in the Lowellville, Fowler, and Leetonia School Districts and others in Western, PA. Clarence also worked at Steel City and Youngstown Sheet & Tube. He retired in 1985 as the Janitor with Columbus Service at the Vindicator. Clarence graduated from Summerville High School and received his teaching degree from Clarion State Teachers College in 1950. He was a WWII Army Veteran, a member of Four Mile Run Christian Church, and enjoyed country music and gospel hymns. His wife the former Ruth Thomas whom he married August 24, 1949 passed away December 19, 2002. Clarence leaves four children; Betty Manns of Youngstown, Clarence W. (Gloria) Yeany Jr. of Austintown, Karen (Dave) Wilhelm of Austintown, and Mary (Mike) Dutton of Girard, one brother; H. Alfred Yeany of Midwest City, OK, eleven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, three step-great grandchildren and one step- great – great grandchild. Besides his wife, Clarence is preceded in death by one sister: Jesse Hotchkiss, two brothers: Plynn Yeany Jr. and one as an infant, and one granddaughter: April Morgan. Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 PM today and again from noon until 1 PM Friday at the funeral home
