Clifford Nippell Jr

Clifford Nippell Jr., 86, of Cortland, OH passed away at his home Thursday morning August 22, 2013. He was born June 26, 1927 in Leavittsburg a son of the late Oliver C. Nippell Sr. and Bessie (Donnette) Nippell. Clifford was a 1945 graduate of Leavittsburg High School. He then served in the Navy during World War II. He worked for LTV Steel as a millwright for over forty five years, retiring in 1992. Clifford was a member for over 50 years of Carroll F. Clapp Masonic Lodge No. 655 in Warren and Opal Chapter No. 181 of the Order of the Eastern Star (formerly West Farmington Eastern Star Chapter). Clifford enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also enjoyed watching football. Clifford married his wife, Marie (Carter) Nippell on October 1, 1946 and they shared nearly 56 years together and raised two daughters. Marie preceded in death in 2002. He is survived by his two daughters, Deborah (Carl) Rider of Cortland and Sharyn (Kenneth) Wagner of Cortland; one sister, Virginia (Kenneth) Peace of Stow, OH; four grandchildren, David (Lynn) Rider, Kelly (John) Phillips, Jennifer (Tim) Stuart and Jessica (Tim) Licata; seven great grandchildren and one expected in early September. He also leaves his close friend, Vesta Edwards. Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Vera Bean and Eva Lee Morton and one brother Richard Nippell. Funeral Services will be held at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel in Warren on Saturday August 24, 2013 at noon. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Masonic services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be at Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna.
