Cynda Jo Zipnock

Cynda Jo Zipnock, age 53, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2013 at University Hopsital in Cleveland, Ohio. Cynda was born on May 20, 1960 to Dr. Joseph McKay and Patricia "Ann" (Rupe) McKay in Mansfield, Ohio. Cynda graduated from Warren G.Harding High School's Cosmetology Program in 1978 and worked as a hairstylist until 1985, when she took a position at Packard Electric. She was a member of the Organizing Committee, Women's Committee, Political Action Committee, and was on the Executive Board as the Recording Secretary for the IUE-CWA from 2001 until she transferred to GM Lordstown in 2008. Cynda was also an Alternative Committee person and worked many other appointed volunteer positions for the union. Cynda married her husband, David Zipnock on May 7, 2008. Cynda loved her family more than anything in the world, especially her grandchildren Abigail and Matthew. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Cynda is survived by her husband of five years, David Zipnock; daughter, Melyssa (Kris) Leonard; father, Dr. Joseph McKay; granddaughter, Abigail Marie Leonard; grandson, Matthew Joseph Leonard; sister, Sally (Michael) Mills; brother, Dr. Victor (Patti) McKay; and nephews, Christopher McKay, Timothy McKay and JJ Mills. Cynda was preceded in death by her Mother, Patricia "Ann" McKay. A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 8, 2013 at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel (180 Garfield Dr) at 7:00pm. Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 5:00 to 7:00pm at the funeral home.
