Cyril Howard Cooke

YoungstownServices will be held 11am Monday at Lane Family Funeral Homes Austintown Chapel for Cyril Howard Cooke who passed away Wednesday evening. The son of Clifford Cooke and Rose Hopkins, Howard was born May 3, 1921 in Pontypridd, South Wales. At the age of 9 Howard moved to Youngstown with his parents. On February 25, 1943 he married Ruby Dailey, with whom he spent 62 wonderful years before her passing in 2005. Shortly after his marriage to Ruby Howard joined the United States Army so that he could serve his country during World War II. After his time in the military he worked for General Fireproofing where he worked for 40 years before his retirement in 1983. He also worked as an upholsterer at RN Upholstery, a company which he owned and operated. Howard was a member of the Boardman Christian Church. He also belonged to the Argus Lodge, the Optimist Club in Austintown and he was also an avid fisherman. He leaves behind his two children Dennis R. (Heidi A.) Cooke of Jacksonville, FL and Audrey L. (Charles) Renz of Garfield Heights, OH. Also surviving Howard are nine grandchildren Trevor (Tammi) Cooke, Ryan (Lori) Cooke, Connie (Brett) Smith, Carrie Cooke, Amy Cooke, Daniel (Kimberly) Renz, David (Erin) Renz, Darren (Krystal) Renz, and Dennis (Jennifer) Renz and nine great-grandchildren Tinley, Tadden, Greyson, Madilyn, Connor, Grace, Noah, Addison, and Jackson. He is preceded in death by his parents, one son Larry Howard Cooke and a brother Donald Cooke.
