D Kim Stefanski

Canfield: Funeral services will be 12 noon Saturday, May 7th at Canfield Presbyterian Church, 140 W. Main St., Canfield for Atty. D. Kim Stefanski, 62, who passed away Wednesday, May 4th surrounded by family at his home in Canfield. Kim was born January 9, 1954 in Youngstown, son of the late W. Dale and Christine Marie Stefanski. He graduated from Boardman High School in 1972 and received a Bachelor's Degree, Cum Laude, from the University of Cincinnati in 1976. He was awarded a Juris Doctorate from the University of Cincinnati College of Law in 1979. Kim was Attorney and Risk Manager for General Motors, Lordstown Plant from 1979-1992 and practiced law with Letson, Griffith, Woodall and LaVelle in Warren prior to starting his own practice, Stefanski and Associates in 1995 in Canfield. One of the highlights of his legal career was representing Vallourec Star in their Youngstown expansion. For this work he received the 2011 Business Advocate of the Year Award from the Youngstown-Warren Regional Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of the Mahoning County Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association and the American Bar Association. Kim was a Cleveland sports fan and was an avid golfer. He leaves his wife, the former Paula Graneto; a daughter, Jennifer and her husband Erich Burchfield of Los Angeles, CA; a son, John W. Stefanski of San Francisco, CA; one brother, Rande (Karen) Stefanski of Hickory, NC; his mother-in-law, LaVerne Graneto; sister-in-law, Joan (Dr. Gerald) Giurato; two nieces, Dr. Jessica Stefanski, Jamie Stefanski; two nephews, Dr. Jeffrey Giurato and Gerald Giurato. Friends may call today (Friday) at Canfield Presbyterian Church from 5:00 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. prior to the service at the church. The family requests material tributes take the form of contributions to the memorial fund of the church or to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market Street, Boardman, OH 44512. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lane Family Funeral Homes, Canfield Chapel.
