Dale O. Hall

Dale O. "Jake" Hall of 146 South Bon Air Avenue, Youngstown, Ohio, died at 8:00 PM Monday (5-26-2008) in the Emergency Room of Northside Medical Center, Youngstown. He was 84. Dale was born at home in Brookfield, Ohio on March 31, 1924, a son of Rex and Elsie (Tribby) Hall. A 1942 graduate from Brookfield High School, Mr. Hall went on to serve our country in the U.S. Navy as a Radioman during WWII. He continued his education following his return graduating from Youngstown College in 1950 with a B.S. in Business Administration. He retired from the Continental Baking Company, Youngstown, after 30 plus years as a salesperson. Continental brands known to the valley were Wonder Bread and Hostess Cakes. Dale was a former member of the Canfield United Methodist Church; former member of the Argus F & AM Masonic Lodge, Canfield; and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge # 3298, Austintown. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing in the Mill Creek and St. Christine's Leagues. Survivors include: his daughter, Deena J. Hall & her husband David Bupp, Dublin, OH; his siblings, Ada Mesmer, Orangeville, OH, Edna Barber, Masury, and Paul Hall, Titusville, FL; and his two grandchildren, Keith & Rachel Barrett. He was preceded in death by his parents; by his daughter, Darla Hall-Barrett; his brothers, Clyde, Earl, Otto, Carl, & Ashton Hall; and by his sisters, LaVerne Shockey & Doris Hutchison. Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 PM Monday (6-2-2008) at the Madasz Funeral Chapel, Brookfield, with Rev. Dan Cesene, officiating. Calling hours will be Monday from 2-4 PM. Burial will be in Brookfield Township Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, the family suggests contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
