Daniel E. Adkins, Sr.

Services will be held 11 AM Thursday at the Lane Funeral Home Mineral Ridge Chapel for Daniel E. Adkins Sr., 67, of Niles who passed away Sunday in St. Elizabeth Medical Center Boardman Campus. Daniel was born February 9, 1944 in Soldier Ky., the son of Jesse Hall and Ada Adkins. He retired as a Craneman and Scaleman for Republic Steel/LTV in 1986. Daniel was of the Methodist faith. He enjoyed listening to the police scanner and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchild. Daniel leaves his wife, the former Evelyn Morris, whom he married July 2, 1965. He also leaves two sons, Daniel Adkins Jr. and his fiance Michelle Oswald of Warren, and Donald Adkins of Niles, one daughter, Dawn Michelle Adkins of Niles, seven grandchildren; Daniel J., Christopher, Kristie, Gabriel, and Makenzie Adkins, Brittany Moon and Carissa Laird, one great grandchild, Kaylee Adkins, as well as seven brothers; Jim, Raymond, Randy and Jeff Foster all of Niles, Mark and Sam Foster both of Warren, and Bill Hall of Morehead, KY, and five sisters; Marlene Kern of Warren, Sherry Bowman, Mary Jane Pastva and Debbie Meadors all of Niles, and Phyllis Dyer of Dayton. Daniel was preceded in death by a sister Charlotte Bowlen and a brother Gene Hall. Friends may call from 5 to 7 PM Wednesday and again from 10 to 11 AM Thursday at the funeral home.
