Darrell William Markijohn, 75, of Fowler Twp., OH, passed away Saturday afternoon, July 17, 2010 at his residence. Mr. Markijohn was born on October 17, 1934 in Conneaut, OH the son of Samuel and Bernice M. (Jackett) Markijohn. A graduate Conneaut High School, Darrell would go on to proudly serve his country in the United States Army as a Specialist Third Class. Upon his return from the service he married the former June V. Christopher on November 28, 1959 at St. Mary�s Catholic Church in Conneaut, OH. Together they would share more than fifty years of marriage and their three children. Darrell received his Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cleveland State University 1970 and had worked as an Engineer at General Electric for more than thirty-six years. Throughout his life he enjoyed bowling, reading, playing golf, and building many beautiful wooden projects around his home. He is survived by his wife June; his two sons Darrell N. Markijohn and his wife Hillary of Zoar, OH, and Philip L. Markijohn of Canfield, OH; his daughter Judith Lynn Markijohn of North Canton, OH; two brothers Richard Markijohn and Bruce Markijohn and his wife Jean all of Conneaut, OH; his sister Maxine Pelyhes and her husband Jim of North Kingsville, OH; and by his ten grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister-in-law Marceline Markijohn. The family will receive friends on Wednesday July 21, 2010 from 5-7 PM at the Lane Funeral Homes Madasz Chapel, 6923 Warren-Sharon Road Brookfield, OH 44403 (330) 448-6969. Closing prayers will begin at 9:15 AM on Thursday at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial which will begin at 10:00 AM at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church 4453 Warren-Sharon Road Vienna, OH 44473, with Rev. Frank Zanni, Pastor. A private burial will take place at St. Joseph�s Cemetery in Conneaut, OH. In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions can be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Church Building Fund care of the church.
