David A. Cope, 73, passed away at home surrounded by his family on November 17, 2016. He was born on September 15, 1943 in Salem, OH, son to the late Arthur and Myrtle (Guy) Cope. David was a Lisbon High School graduate and went on to serve in the United States Army as a mechanic. After his service, David lived in Salem and worked in Twinsburg for 43 years for Chrysler as a tool and die maker and retired in 2008. David also owned several rental properties. After his retirement, David and his family moved to Austintown where he made his home for 7 years. David was currently a member of Highway Tabernacle Church. Prior to moving to Austintown, he was a passionate member of Abundant Life Fellowship in New Waterford for many years. David will be remembered as a hardworking man that loved and cared deeply for his family. He also enjoyed bowling and wood working, and was a devoted Cleveland Browns fan. Left to carry on David's memory is his loving wife of 34 years, Dolores Cope, whom he married on March 20, 1982. He is also survived by his children, Lisa McGuire, Candy Kibler, John Cope, Sean Cope, DeAnna (Greg) Szmaj, Nelson Cope, and Malinda (Zahid) Murad; his 13 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and his brother, William (Rosemary) Cope. Family will receive friends on Monday, November 21 from 4PM-7PM and on Tuesday, November 22 from 10AM-11AM at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, 5797 Mahoning Ave., where services will take place on Tuesday, November 22 at 11AM. Entombment to follow at Highland Memorial Park in Beloit.
