DAVID L. MARTIN Age 65 North Jackson- Services celebrating the life of David Martin will be held at 11 am Wednesday at the Lane Family Funeral Home Austintown Chapel. David died Friday morning following complications of pneumonia and a lengthy and courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis. David was born March 5, 1949 in Warren, the eldest son of the late LeRoy and Kathryn (McMillin) Martin. He is survived by his loving companion, Donna (States) Cook, and her daughter, Elena (Shawn) Eaken, grandsons, Zachary and Isaac and granddaughter Alyssa Eaken all of Virginia. Also surviving is his sister, Judy (Pete) Triveri of Florida, brothers, Kevin (Maureen) Martin of Newton Falls, Shawn (Tina) Martin of Liberty, nieces and nephews Heidi (Brad) Mc Donald, Brent Triveri, Heather and Caitlin Martin, Shawn Lininger and Brandon Martin and great nephews Tyler and Christopher McDonald. David will also be missed by his best friend Virgil Walker of Salem, lifelong friend Gary Hemphill close friend Alan Hauck both of North Jackson and close friend Sheila Klegg of Lake Milton. David was a life member of the First Federated Church of North Jackson. He became an Eagle Scout while in troop #105 of the Boy Scouts of America. He was a 1967 graduate of Jackson Milton High School and retired from General Motors after 36 years of dedicated and loyal service. David was also a proud member of the The United Auto Workers of America #1112. He had an unwavering pride for his country, community and high school. He enjoyed playing baseball and basketball for many years. He was proud to be a Mount Union College "Dad" and still holds season football tickets for this year's "Purple Raiders". He loved attending Classic Car Shows and concerts. His favorite music was "Doo Wop"and "Old Time Rock & Roll", which he has an extensive collection. He enjoyed entertaining and thrilling children and their parents by being Santa Claus during the Holidays. David was a kind, loving and honest man; he will be remembered fondly with warmth and affection. He also had a joke ready to share with a sparkle in his eye, creating wonderful memories for all who knew and loved him especially all his friends from his hometown of North Jackson Family and friends may call from 5-8 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. David will be buried in North Jackson Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to The Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel (330) 744-2289
