David Leo Keller

December 15, 1929 — August 4, 2010

David Leo Keller, age 80 formerly of Warren, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday morning, August 4, 2010, at his home in St. Cloud, Florida. He was born December 15, 1929 in Portsmouth, Ohio, the son of the late Clarence and Elizabeth Montavon Keller. He was a Warren resident most of his life. David was a graduate of Harding High School and served in the U.S. Army field artillery unit in Italy during the occupation of World War II. He also served in the Ohio National Guard in Warren for 20 years. Dave worked at Van Huffel Sheet and Tube as a timekeeper and later in the industrial engineering department, until the factory's closing and then worked as a time keeper at American Welding and Mfg. Company for 10 years, retiring in 1995. As a member of Christ Our King Catholic Church, he served as treasurer for bingo for 30 years and served for many years as a lector for both the church and St. Joseph Hospital Chapel. He was past president and treasurer of the Warren Optimist Club, served as financial secretary of Knights of Columbus Council 4484 and was a member and served on the degree team of K of C Council 7491. Dave was a life member of the Warren Men's Bowling Association, where he was past president, secretary and treasurer. Dave enjoyed volunteering as a teacher's aide at Emerson Elementary School for 10 years and was a member of the Friends of the Warren Library. Dave enjoyed reading, crossword and jigsaw puzzles, traveling to Myrtle Beach and was an avid Notre Dame and Ohio State football fan. He loved spendifng time with his family and friends. David is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Patricia J. "Pat" Benard Keller, whom he married May 7, 1955 and one son, Jeffery L. Keller of St. Cloud, Fla. He was preceded in death by one son, Michael Keller who died in 2000; three sisters, Dorothy Callahan, Helen Trimble and Patricia Keller and one brother, Richard Keller. A memorial service was held Sunday, August 8, 2010 at Dave's home in St. Cloud. The family will receive friends from 9 to 11 am Saturday, August 14, 2010, at Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel in Warren, A Mass of Christian Burial will be at noon Saturday at Christ Our King Church in Warren, with Rev. Frederick Lukehart celebrating the mass. Military honors and burial will take place at All Souls Cemetery in Bazetta Township.
