Funeral services celebrating the life of Delfi Colon, 44, will be held at 5 pm Wednesday, April 10, at the Lane Funeral Home Mineral Ridge Chapel. Delfi passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 5, 2019. He was born September 29, 1974 in Youngstown, the son of Delfin Colon and Rose (Trill) Crago-Colon. He was a graduate of East High School, class of 1993. Delfi enlisted in the US Army after high school and served from 2000 until 2003 in the Army Headquarters Company, 3rd Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry regiment 82nd Airborne Division. He was deployed to Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom in 2002. While in the military he received his culinary training. After his service to our country, Delfi worked in the food service industry in Atlanta and Ohio. Later he continued his education and graduated from New Castle School of Trades as a Machinist in 2011. Delfi worked for Ellwood Crankshaft as a Machinist and Quality Control Inspector and was currently employed at Nordson as a Tooling Engineer. Delfi attended Berlin Center United Methodist Church. His hobbies included gardening, golfing, riding bicycles, and motorcycles, playing pool, hiking, boating, fishing, drawing and art. Most important was spending time with his family. Delfi leaves to cherish his memory his wife, the former Kimberly G. Reedy, whom he married August 5, 2008, two daughters Ravonna Marie and Abigale Rose both at home, siblings Annie (Franky Martinez) Colon, Elizabeth Viera, Joseph Crago, Kenneth (Patty) Crago, Donna Loree (Mike) Keister, Crispin (Ruth Ann) Crago, Donald Crago, as well as his brother in law, Edward W. Reedy, his mother in law, Cynthia A. Reedy-Baringer and his father in law, Gale W. (Leslie A.) Reedy, and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends may call from 2 to 5 pm Wednesday at the Lane Funeral Home, Mineral Ridge Chapel where services with full military honors will be held at 5 pm. Following the services at the funeral home the celebration of Delfis life will continue at the Girard Eagles Club, 26 W. Wilson Avenue Girard, Ohio 44420.
