Delmar "Les" Lester Smith

Delmar "Les" Lester Smith, 68, died on Friday, Jan. 26, 2018 Surrounded by his loved ones at St. Elizabeth Health Center. He was born June 3, 1949 in Lawrence, PA, the youngest of three sons of Wilda Mae Williams Nutt and Delmar Smith. Les married the love of his life, Gwendolyn J. Smith Dec. 15, 1986 and they spent 31 loving years as husband and wife, renewing their vows in December 2016. Les will be remembered as the bedrock of the family. He loved with all he had and always put others first. If someone couldnt figure something out, "Ask Les" was always the answer. He would fix it or show you how. Les loved working with his hands and his passions for life included spending time with his sweetie Gwen and family, riding his Harley motorcycle, and enjoying Sunday dinner with family. He worked at Cole Valley Chevrolet in sales and was a devoted member and usher at the Four Mile Run Christian Church. Les was preceded in death by his parents and brother Joe. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Gwen; his six children, Matthew (Christine) Smith, Shannon (Jay) Warmouth, Diana (Scott) McIntyre, Rachelle (John) Fleet, Rob Sell and Paul (Mary Ann) Billet; 15 grandchildren; two gr. grandchildren; his brother, Don Smith; close family friend, Darin Benyak, along with several nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 4-6 p.m. on Wednesday at the Lane Family Funeral Homes-Austintown Chapel. Services will be at 6 p.m. , immediately following calling hours at the funeral home.
