Dewey Curtis Gray Ii

Dewey Curtis Gray II, age 44 of Champion Township, died Sunday evening, September 4, 2011, at his home of a heart attack. He was born February 8, 1967 in Warren the son of the late Dewey C. Gray and Nancy J. O'Donnell Gray of Champion. Dewey was a 1985 graduate of Champion High School, where he played football and baseball. He attended Slippery Rock College and Kent State University. Dewey was a graduate of the Northeast Ohio Police Academy. He worked for the FBI in Washington D.C. for two years and retired from the Warren Police Department, where he worked as a patrolman and detective. Dewey loved helping people and went out of his way to help. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time outdoors. He was active for many years playing ball with the Warren Recreational Softball League. Dewey is survived by his mother, Nancy J. Gray of Champion; a daughter, Allison Nicole Gray of Champion; one brother, Jason P. (Beth) Gray of Champion and two nephews, Gunnar and Gavin and one niece, Olivia. He was preceded in death by his father, Dewey C. "PaPa Dew" Gray on August 29, 2007. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, September 9, 2011, at Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel in Warren, where memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. with Rev. Gregory Thompson officiating.
