Dolores P. Houser, 89 Canfield: Friends may call on Saturday, September 5th at Lane Family Funeral Home, 65 N. Broad Street, Canfield at 4:00 p.m.followed by funeral services at 5:00 p.m. for Dolores P. Houser, 89 of Canfield who died Tuesday afternoon at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Youngstown. Dolores was born January 24, 1926 in Youngstown, a daughter of the later Frank and Agnes Ludt Mesmer and was a lifelong area resident. She graduated from Boardman High School and had been a bank teller for Farmer's National Bank for 25 years. Dolores was a member of the Order of Easter Star, Trias Chapter and the Saxon Club. She enjoyed playing bocce and had belonged to a women's bocce league and a couple's league. Dolores also loved to trap-shoot with her first husband, Bill and had traveled to the Grand American Trap Shooting Competition. Her first husband, Allan "Bill" Rogers whom she married January 2, 1948, died in 1976. She leaves her husband, Russell E. Houser whom she married in 1984; two daughters, Janet Rogers of Stuart, Florida, Jane (Walter) Overly of Berlin Center; two step-daughters, Joanne (Michael) Thomas of Ellsworth, Lori (Bill) Miller of Boardman; four grandchildren, John B. (Nicole) Overly of Salem, Victoria (Jason) Holmes of Victoria, Texas, Taylor Thomas of Ellsworth, Sean (Renee) Houser of Boardman and four great-grandchildren, J.P., Ethan, Addison and Haley. Dolores also leaves a brother, Vernon Mesmer of Dunedin, Florida. Besides her parents and her first husband, Dolores was preceded in death by a brother, Norman Mesmer, a sister Alice Greer and her beloved cat Snooper.
