Donald D. Dornan, Sr.

Donald D. Dornan Sr. passed away Wednesday afternoon at Select Specialty Hospital in Warren. Donald was born August 25, 1925 in Weedville, PA a son of the late James L. and Pearl V. (Gardner) Dornan. A United States Navy veteran of WWII, Don retired after 20 years at General Motors in Lordstown. He graduated from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science, was a 32nd degree mason at the lodge in Coudersport, PA where he earned his 50 year pin, a member of the Hunting and Fishing Club in Warren, and an avid fisherman. Donald will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 64 years, the former Alice Heffelfinger, whom he married, June 8, 1946; two sons: Donald D. Dornan Jr. of Niles and James (Kim) Dornan of Litchfield Park, AZ; six grandchildren: Amber (John) Styron of Merrillville, IN, Kristy (Joe) Hartsock of La Mirage, AZ, Kami (Matt) Kruse of South Dakota, James (Susannah) Dornan of Chandler, AZ, Danae Dornan of Litchfield Park, AZ and Courtney Dornan of Litchfield Park AZ; seven great grandchildren; and eight nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Don is preceded in death by a sister Velma Klingensmith; and four brothers: Robert, Timothy and two as infants. Friends may call from 2 PM until 4 PM and 7 PM until 9 PM Saturday at Lane Funeral Home Niles Chapel, 415 Robbins Ave, Niles, OH 44446; and from 2 PM until 4 PM Sunday at Mantini Funeral Home, 701 6th Avenue, Ford City, PA 16226. Funeral Services will be 11 AM Monday at Mantini Funeral Home with Pastor James Vincent officiating.
