Donald E. Carl, age 64, of Mineral Ridge, Ohio passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2013 in Mineral Ridge, Ohio. Donald was born on April 11, 1949 in Allentown, Pennsylvania to the late Edward Carl and Marie (Radu) Carl. Donald is a United States Army Veteran having served from 1968 to 1974 during the Vietnam War. Donald was in the Honor Guard at Arlington National Cemetery where he honored his fellow brothers by serving at military funerals. He was also a member of the VFW #3538 in Struthers, Ohio and the American Legion Post #699 in Leavittsburg, Ohio. Donald is survived by his former wife and caregiver, Patricia Carl; daughter, Melissa (Darren) Clawson of Brookfield; step-daughter, Angelique Wilson of Champion; step-son, Jason (Tiana) Wilson of Braceville; seven grandchildren; and sisters, Elaine (David) Allegar of Brookfield and Janet (Ed) Bednar of Sharpsville. Donald was preceded in death by his parents. Services will be private. Burial will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to either the Alzheimer's Association, 1815 W. Market St., Suite 301, Akron, Ohio 44313 or to the Harbor Light Hospice of Boardman, 25 S Main St, Munroe Falls, OH 44262.
