Donald L. Mccort

Donald L. McCort passed away Dec. 6, 2022, at age 95 in Mineral Ridge, Oh. He was born Sept.29, 1927, to Helen and Phillip John McCort in Belleville, OH, and graduated from Freedom High School in 1945. He joined the Army and served in the 9th Infantry Division, earning the M1 Rifle Expert Rifleman designation and the World War II Victory and Army of Occupation medals. After spending most of his adult life in Arizona and other Western states working on and supervising construction of many interstate highways, he returned to WV and then Ohio. He is survived by his daughter Karen Ferjanec of Battle Mountain, NV, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and several neices and nephews. He was preceeded in death by his wife Macel and sons James and Ronald McCort. He will be laid to rest in Drakesburg Cemetary in Freedom Township at 1:00 PM Thursday, December 29, 2022.
