Donald Peterson

Donald B. Peterson, 80 of Lordstown passed away at 12:50am Friday, April 1, 2011 at Shepherd of the Valley in Niles. Born in Lordstown on September 29, 1930, Donald is the son of the late Lawrence and Olive Keller Peterson. A lifetime area resident, Donald was a member of New Covenant Baptist Church. He was the owner and operator of Peterson's True Value Feed & Hardware for many years retiring in 2001. He is a mason with the Sincerity Lodge in Niles. He married his wife the former Lila E. Montgomery on September 11, 1954. Together they shared 53 years of marriage until her passing on April 4, 2008. Also preceding Donald in death are his parents, a son, Alan Peterson, two grandchildren; Stephen Minor and Amber Peterson; a brother Clair Peterson and a sister Glatis Kupka. Surviving Donald, are his children; Sue (Robert) Minor of Lordstown, Harry (Christine) Peterson of Niles, Cherin (Charles) Phillips of Cape Coral, Florida, and Daniel (Cristen) Peterson of Lordstown; a sister Betty Barnes of Sparks, Nevada; 18 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren; and his lifelong friend Ted Radtka. Funeral services will be held at 1pm Monday the Lane Funeral Homes, Austintown chapel. The family will be receiving friends on Sunday from 4-6pm. Burial will be at Lordstown Village Cemetery.
